What is TOEFL-iBT?
TOEFL is an acronym and it means Test of English as a Foreign Language. Likewise, iBT stands for Internet Based Test. Loosely, TOEFL-iBT an online exam that a person would take to show his/her degree of proficiency in written and spoken English.

When can i take the TOEFL-iBT?
The exam can be scheduled by visiting the official website of the exam body on www.ets.org. After making payments, you can choose a date for your test. However, you cannot take the TOEFL-iBT "TWICE" within a 12-day period.

Where can i take the TOEFL-iBT?
ETS (Electronic Testing Service) has approved testing centers in so many countries. You can choose a center you think will be convenient in terms of the ease of arriving on time for the exam.

How do I go about taking the TOEFL-iBT?
1. Register your Testing Center on the ETS website and pay for the test. The current fee is $180.00 which is approximately N50,000.

2. Take a TOEFL-iBT practice test to know your weaknesses. You can download the TOEFL-iBT sampler by visiting https://www.ets.org/toefl/ibt/prepare/toefl_interactive_sampler/

3. Study hard for the TOEFL-iBT using study guides. I recommend Kaplan Premier because that's what i use. Moreover, it costs N5,000 which is very affordable even for the average Joe.

4. Take the TOEFL-iBT.

This article will focus on helping prospective test-takers to understand the structure of the  TOEFL-iBT.   in order for them to maximize the tips that would be discussed subsequently. 1. READING SECTION The reading section is the first section of the  TOEFL-iBT .
